You've seen it before. You probably even saw it two minutes ago. We're talking about the omnipresent Anakin and Padme 4-panel meme, also commonly known as the 'for the better, right?' meme. Many meme enthusiasts don't seem to have much respect and appreciation for a brilliant meme once it's been deemed overused. But one could argue that the supposed 'overuse' of a meme is what makes it successful in the first place. Is a meme still a meme if it's so niche and unpopular that it doesn't get remixed, rehashed and mass-circulated? Isn't it then just another meaningless image lost in the content sludge, never making its mark in meme history?
There are meme-curmudgeons who spend all their time complaining in the comments about how relevant your memes are and then there are the true meme-heads like TheRealR0tb3rt, who see a played out meme as an opportunity to bring joy and comedy to the internet, rather than smug disapproval.
