Celebrities Go Bad in Viral 'Evil X Be Like' Memes

Remember "Opposite Day?" This wasn't really an actual date, but a state of mind that schoolchildren (at least in my era) occupied where we could freely insult each other - or compliment each other - while really meaning the "opposite." You'd say "I hate you" to a bestie and they'd be shocked until you informed them of this special occasion. The alternate was true - taunting frenemies and bullies with a sugary sweet "I love you" or "You're pretty" before crushing their spirit with a "HAHA, just kidding, it's opposite day."

It seems like memers are having some similar fun with one of the latest dumb memes to take over Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit. The trend, which is being referred to as "Evil X Be Like" by Know Your Meme, involves deep frying or inverting an image of a public figure or musician, and then captioning it with the opposite of their popular sentiments. The meme started on Facebook in September, but really picked up in iFunny. A spicy, yet satisfying example would be the meme of MLK saying "I have a nightmare." Goofy and versatile memes like this tend to spread like wildfire, for better or for worse, and we haven't seen anything quite this prevalent in a while. While most of the jokes focus on musicians, there are a few that get a wee political - but this is the internet, so what do you expect? Jeff Bezos and Bill Clinton kind of have it coming.
