The possums in my backyard aren't the brightest. They're also not the cutest, save for the few months where they are tiny, soft-looking, and almost appear to be wearing thick kajal eyeliner. As they age their teeth get creepier, their eyes more clouded, and that "fur" a whole lot more patchy. That said, they're honestly kinda sweet bumbling critters that should probably be more scared of me and my devoted following of neighborhood cats. What's more surprising than their docile, doofy natures is that they have become the unlikely subject of a whole lot of varied memes. They're not just relegated to relatable memes about feeling like trash. Instead, meme-makers have given the marsupials a chaotic range of personalities.
