Snarky Bakery Owner Loses It After Being Reported For Using 'Illegal Sprinkles'

Apparently we've been living the good life here in the United States and we didn't even know it. No, we're not referring to healthcare. We're talkin' sprinkles. Colorful specks of sugar that adorn everything from ice cream cones to a doughnuts. Apparently in the United Kingdom, American sprinkles are illegal as they contain food colorings found to cause thyroid problems and hyperactivity in children. The FDA doesn't find the same warning necessary. That's probably because more hyperactivity = more Adderall prescriptions. Jokes.

These illegal sprinkles are at the root of a viral social media explosion. According to their Facebook, the Get Baked bakery in Leeds had a customer report them for using this colorful contraband. The ensuing posts caught the attention of everyone from Newsweek to BBC and the attention is definitely warranted: Get Baked's owner has a very special style of communication. His posts are absolutely dripping with hilarious, sassy contempt. And upon finding out that the sprinkles that make the "Birthday Bruce" cake so special would be taken from him, he snapped. The dispatches that followed go into exquisite and brutal detail. And boy, does the dude love American sprinkles.

This isn't the first time that Get Baked has gotten snarky on Facebook. The "hope you fail" and "done and done" mentions are a shoutout to a disgruntled customer named Dan. Dan didn't like a chalkboard message that was (jokingly) guilting people to spend money to support the owner's 6 month old daughter, and threatened to unfollow the bakery for that behavior. They weren't phased and encouraged the unfollowing, to which Dan replied "Done and done. Hope you fail." The sentiment, which has been adopted by the establishment as a sort of signature, made its way to t-shirts that sold out very quickly. While we hope that Get Baked stays under the law's radar for the foreseeable future, we also look forward to whatever Facebook drama they get into next.
