Look. We love Lord of the Rings memes as much as or even more than most of you. But sometimes a meme becomes so forced that we avoid discussing it. That's what's happened with 'Pondering My Orb' memes. We've been including them in our weekly Tolkien Tuesday collections, but mostly just hoping the format would simply fade away. Unfortunately it's become increasingly clear that's not happening anytime soon. And if you can't beat them, you might as well join them.

As weary as we are of this wizard and his orb, we had no idea that a simple tweet from October would be making us miserable in December. While the tweet was clearly a success, the internet wasn't quite as saturated until late November. That's when nearly every Instagram and Facebook page or subreddit seemed to feature the illustrated cover of Middle-Earth Quest: A Spy In Isengard.
