This year's endless joy of lockdowns and quarantines has inspired many home-based trends. While some people took up baking bread and gaining that quarantine fifteen, other people turned to knitting or art. And then there's the scads of millenials and Zoomers who decided to cultivate the ol' houseplant and gardening fad that had been steadily growing over the last few years. And who can blame them? If you're going to be stuck inside, it makes sense to want your space to look green and your air to flow more fresh. From these plant memes it's clear the obsession has reached financially irresponsible levels, there are definitely worse ways to spend your time and money than caring for a living thing. Especially when you don't have to walk plants or change their litterbox.
